Authorized Departures From the Dimensional Requirements

- a. Projections. Projections of cornices, window sills, bay windows and other ornamental features may extend up to one foot into any required yard area.
- b. Structures Allowed Above the Height Limits.
- 1. Attached structures and appurtenances such as flagpoles, antennas, weather vanes, and the like, shall be allowed to exceed the maximum height permitted by up to 10 feet.
- 2. Unoccupied decorative areas of a building such as towers, cupolas, widows' walks, and the like, shall be allowed to exceed the maximum height permitted by up to five feet.
- 3. Detached and freestanding structures and appurtenances, such as windmills and antennas, and the like, shall be allowed to exceed the maximum height permitted by up to five feet.

- 5. Flagpoles used for noncommercial purposes shall be allowed to exceed the maximum height permitted by up to 20 feet.
