§ 902

Enforcement Duties

902. Enforcement Duties It shall be the duty of the Zoning Enforcement Officer to enforce the provisions of this Ordinance in the manner and form and with the powers provided in the law of the State and in the Charter and Ordinances of the Town. The Zoning Enforcement Officer shall refer all applications for variances, special use permits and other appeals to the Zoning Board of Review.

The Zoning Enforcement Officer shall make a determination in writing, within fifteen (15) days, to any written complaint received, regarding a violation of this Ordinance. In order to provide guidance or clarification, the Zoning Enforcement Officer shall, upon written request, issue a zoning certificate or provide information to the requesting party within fifteen (15) days of the written request. Any determination of the Zoning Enforcement Officer may be appealed to the Board in accordance with Article X of this Ordinance. The Zoning Enforcement Officer shall be appointed by the Mayor under this Ordinance and shall be empowered to perform any and all acts consistent with the powers and duties of the Zoning Enforcement Officer as provided for in this Ordinance. The Zoning Enforcement Officer, who may be the Building Official, shall be a person with a minimum of two (2) years of related experience.
